While I usually avoid textbooks, this one is a VERY teacher-friendly and child-friendly book with large, easy-to-read type, lots of large,relevant pictures, photos & maps,an occasional timeline, a glossary, an index, short biolgraphical sketches of famous Missourians, questions to ponder at the beginning of each chapter, activities to solidify learning at the end of each chapter.
