When I enter a new book, it makes a duplicate of the book type.

In Version 1.0 RC3, entering a book using the blank line at the bottom of the book list creates a new instance of the book type in the Book Types table. To avoid this problem, use the Add book button at the top of the Edit Books form.

The problem is that the calendar control is not properly registered. To fix the problem, try the following procedure:

Open an MS-DOS prompt (Start/Programs/MS-DOS Prompt)

You should get a black (MS-DOS) box with a prompt that looks like

C:\WINDOWS>

At the prompt, type "cd system" (w/o quote marks), so your screen will look like

C:\WINDOWS> cd system

Press Enter, then type "regsvr32.exe \windows\system\mscal.ocx" (w/o quotes)

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM> regsvr32.exe \windows\system\mscal.ocx

and press Enter.

With luck, that should do the trick. If you get the message that the control was registered successfully, at any rate.

Close the MS-DOS box (just type exit at the prompt), and try starting MLR and see if it works.

The total hours for Year To Date sums in the "Monthly Log Reports" isn't right.

There is a bug in Version 1.0B1 that incorrectly sums the Year To Date in some categories in this report. The total core and non-core hours are reported correctly, however.

I tried to print the "Monthly Log Report", but the screen just flashes and takes me back to the switchboard.

Check to make sure that no more than 5 categories are checked as core. This report cannot handle more than 5 core subject categories.
